A new study has been funded by the Health and Wellness Trust Fund to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of MNT delivered by RDs in primary care offices for children who are overweight or at risk of overweight.
Between now and the end of November, the four medical schools in NC (UNC-CH, Wake Forest University, Eastern Carolina University and Duke University) will be hiring part time RDs for 8 private primary care practices across NC.
These are two-year position. Each dietitian will work in a private physician pediatric or family medicine practice to provide one-on-one and group counseling to patients from that practice.
