RDDA 5% Day a Success
By Ellen Morrison, MS RD LDNOn January 12th, 2010, RDDA held its first 5% Day at the Whole Foods Market in Cary, where 5% of the day’s sales were donated to RDDA and the Poe Center for Health Education. It was a great success raising $2,625! These funds will be used to support the implementation of the 4th Annual Less Fork, More Foot 5K Race, to benefit the Poe Center for Health Education. The 5K is scheduled for Sunday, April 11th at 9am, on the Meredith College campus.
We owe this great success to the generosity and support of the Whole Foods Market in Cary and our volunteers:
RDDA Members: Nealie Tebb, Kenlyn Young, Mary Craven Poteat, Rebecca Houseal, Parul Kharod, Julie Grace, Ellen Morrison, Katrina Levine, Rose Padugal, Morgan Chadderton, Carson Garoni, Meg Mangan and Jessica Zombek and Natalie Taft for the RDDA and Poe Center.
Poe Center Representatives: Lauren McCallum, Pat Smeallie and Pam Highsmith.
Please support our continued efforts for the Poe Center by registering or volunteering for this event. See you on Sunday, April 11 at Meredith College.

RDDA Cookie Exchange Social
December 2008
This past December, RDDA members attended a cookie exchange at fellow RDDA member Julie Francis’ house. Members got to socialize, play games, eat yummy cookies and share great recipes for an evening. What a great time! We hope to repeat this next year!
RDDA members had the hard task of deciding what cookies to choose for the evening!
