Call for Nomination 2023

NCAND is seeking nominations for the 2023-2024 Board.  Please review the available voting and non-voting Board members.

President-Elect 

Service requirements:

  • Three year term (1 year as President-elect, 1 year as President, 1 year as Immediate Past-President)

  • The President-Elect will serve for one (1) year and on the first day of the second fiscal year after election will automatically become President of NCAND.

  • The President-Elect will succeed to the office of the President in the case of a vacancy in that office and then will serve as President until the end of the term for which the President-Elect was originally elected.

Functions:

  • The President-Elect will serve as a voting member of the BOD.

  • Perform the functions of the office of President in the absence of or, as determined by the BOD, the disability of the President.

  • Appoint the chairs of all standing committees and special committees to serve during the President-Elect's term as President.

  • Serve as the chair of the Strategic Planning Committee during President-Elect year.

  • Perform such other duties as may be designated by the BOD.

  • Serve as a member of the Program Planning and Strategic Planning Committees. 

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will have experience on the NCAND, or other comparable association, Board of Directors in the last 5 years. 

  • Member of the Academy in the Active classification

  • Demonstrated experience on and recognized contribution to the Board of Directors and in activities and operations of the affiliate

  • Participation in national and affiliate and/or regional dietetic association activities

  • Demonstrates leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of the profession

  • Demonstrated experience in providing strategic direction, management, collaboration, team building and fiscal planning

  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration required

  • Obtains employer support for involvement and time commitment  


Secretary

Service requirements:

  • The Secretary will serve for two years. 

Functions:

  • The Secretary will have any and all powers and duties usually vested in the office of Secretary. Share the duties of minute taking and distribution of minutes with Management Services.   


Delegate 

Service Requirements:

  • The Delegate will serve for a three (3) year term and may be re-elected for one (1) additional term of office. A break of at least two (2) years must occur after the term of Delegate before being considered as a candidate for another term.

Functions: 

  • The Delegate will serve as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, represent and act on behalf of the Academy at all meetings of the House of Delegates of the AND; communicate all business and current issues of the House of Delegates to and from the Board of Directors and the membership; and communicate pertinent professional and practice issues to State Dietetic Practice Groups.
