NCAND Internship Fair

The North Carolina Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NCAND) will be hosting the Internship Fair again this year in conjunction with the NCAND Regional Meeting in Raleigh on Friday September 14, 2018 at the NC Museum of Art.

We thank those of you who attended last year and appreciate the feedback we received. We have taken your suggestions and have made a few changes this year in an effort to provide the best possible experience for both directors and students.

As a participating internship program, you will have opportunities to talk about and sell your program to all participating students via a large group session, to interact with students individually on the fair floor, to schedule one-on-one appointment slots with students, and to network with RDNs that could serve as potential preceptors for your program. We also encourage you to bring a current intern with you so they can share their internship experience with students and/or present one of their projects.

The internship fair will begin around 9:30 am and end prior to 4:00 pm, with a schedule as follows:

9:45-10:45 am
large group session where all internship directors are given some time to broadly discuss their program to the entire group of students
10:45-11:15 am
break for ALL meeting participants (RDNs and students can visit your table during this time; students can sign up for one-on-one appointments)
11:15 am-12:15 pm
large group session where current interns are able to speak about their experience and/or present a project, case study, etc. to the entire group of students
12:15-1:15 pm
lunch for ALL meeting participants
1:15-2:15 pm
one-on-one appointments between students and programs/schools
2:15-2:45 pm
 break for ALL meeting participants
2:45-3:45 pm
one-on-one appointments between students and programs/schools

As an additional benefit, we are able to provide approximately 15% off our usual vendor fees for this event from $350 to $300 (for participating internship programs only). Your registration will include an exhibit table, space for 2 representatives from your school to attend (each additional representative must pay the registration fees for the meeting), as well as space for 1 intern, lunch, and access to the Regional Meeting's educational sessions.

We have invited all ACEND accredited internship programs in NC, SC, and VA to attend and encourage you to pass this information along to your students.

We hope that you will find this event to be a benefit to both you and the students in our area. I strongly believe we can make this opportunity a wonderful experience for everyone involved and can continue this internship fair for years to come - learning and refining it along the way!

If you would like to participate in this event, please fill out this form and select “School/University” for type of company and “School for internship fair” under sponsor options.

If you are interested in being part of the NCAND Intern Fair you must register by Friday September 1st, 2018.
